Configuring mDNS Service Lists

A service list is a sequence of individual statements, each with a permit or deny result. Service lists are evaluated based on a list scan and an evaluation of the criteria of each statement that matches.

1. On the Services > mDNS > Configure > Service Lists page, click New.
2. In the Service List Details window, enter a name for the service list.
3. Click Add.
4. From the Service Rule drop-down list, choose either permit or deny. If you do not choose a service rule, by default, the service list is permitted.
5. From the Message Type drop-down list, choose the message type to match from the following options:

• announcement—to allow only service advertisements or announcements for the device.
• query—to allow only a query from the client for a service in the network.
• any—to allow all messages.

6. Choose the service instance to match the service list.
7. Choose a service type to match the service list.
8. Choose the location you want to associate with the service list.
9. Click Apply.
