Service Function: Support for 26 Cores
Feature Summary and Revision History
Support for 26 Core Service Function VMsIn releases prior to 21.5/N5.8, up to 24 cores could be allocated for the Service Function (SF) VMs. In release 21.5/N5.8 and higher, 26 cores are now supported per SF VM.
New Parameter for Equal Distribution of MCDMA Channels Across Cores
A new configurable option is provided in this release to enable uniform distribution of MCDMA channels.
When 26 cores are utilized, this results in an unequal distribution of MCDMA channels across the cores used to perform MCDMA work.
A new parameter (IFTASK_VNPU_TX_MODE=n) is supported in the params.cfg file. With VNPU TX mode enabled, the MCDMA function cores in IFTASK are split equally as MCDMA cores and VNPU TX lookup cores.
By default, this parameter is disabled (0).
