Overview of Customer Onboarding
Customer Onboarding Process
The onboarding process involves a series of steps to configure all the elements from setting up the data center to configuring users and devices:
-
Configure the Data Center and Network components.
-
Configure a domain manager to set up the customer hierarchy, users, and devices.
-
Configure the core collaboration applications such as Cisco Unified Communications Manager and any additional components, including Cisco IM and Presence Service and Cisco Unity Connection.
-
Configure HCS Collaboration Mediation and Fulfillment (HCM-F) for platform and infrastructure management and service inventory reporting.
-
Configure Cisco Prime Collaboration Assurance (PCA) for service assurance.
-
Configure access to any third party PBX systems for incoming and outgoing PSTN calls.
Bulk Loading or Manual Configuration
Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS) offers two primary methods for customer onboarding:
-
The Cisco Unified Communications Domain Manager 10.1.x Administrative Tools/ Bulk Loader Tool is available on the Cisco Unified Communications Domain Manager platform to bulk load information into Cisco Unified Communications Domain Manager.
-
Manual configuration in each of the Cisco HCS software components.
We strongly recommend that you use Bulk Loader. To queue and administer Bulk Loader jobs, you should be familiar with Unified Communications Domain Manager provisioning through the interface.
For more information on Bulk Loader, see the following documents:
