Create the File Hosting Location(s)
If you are using external hosting, you need to have both an HTTP and a RTMP hosting location defined for H.264 videos. If you do not have both configured, you need to create them before enabling mobile application access.
Refer to the following procedures for the type of hosting location you need to access:
Create an HTTP File Hosting Location
The Cisco Show and Share mobile application plays videos served from the HTTP file hosting location. The mobile application does not support streaming video.
Prerequisites
You are using external file hosting. If you are using local file hosting, you do not need to perform this procedure.
Procedure
Step 1
Log into Cisco Show and Share with an account that has the Administrator role or as superuser.
Step 2
Choose Administration from the global navigation.
Step 3
Choose Setup > Show and Share.
The File Hosting Locations page appears.
Step 4
Click the Create an additional file hosting location button at the bottom of the page.
Step 5
Type a name for the file hosting location in the File hosting location name field. Use something descriptive, such as H.264 HTTP Hosting Location
Step 6
Type *.mp4 in the Accepts files with extensions field.
Step 7
Select SFTP or FTP as the file upload protocol.
Step 8
Type the server FQDN in the Host address field.
Step 9
Type the upload login credentials in the Login name and Login password fields.
Step 10
Type the directory root where the FTP or SFTP uploads should place the files in the Directory root location field. This is the directory path from the FTP root, such as /content/video.
Step 11
Type the URL root where the videos are hosted. This URL must start with HTTP or HTTPS.
Step 12
Click Verify Protocol Settings to verify that Cisco Show and Share can upload media assets to the server.
If the you get a failure message, verify that you are using the correct login credentials.
Step 13
Click Verify Root URL to ensure that the videos are accessible from the URL provided.
When finished, your hosting location should look similar to the following:
Create an RTMP File Hosting Location
The Cisco Show and Share web application plays videos served from the RTMP file hosting location. This enables viewers to easily navigate the video.
Prerequisites
You are using external file hosting. If you are using local file hosting, you do not need to perform this procedure.
Procedure
Step 1
Log into Cisco Show and Share with an account that has the Administrator role or as superuser.
Step 2
Choose Administration from the global navigation.
Step 3
Choose Setup > Show and Share.
The File Hosting Locations page appears.
Step 4
Click the Create an additional file hosting location button at the bottom of the page.
Step 5
Type a name for the file hosting location in the File hosting location name field. Use something descriptive, such as H.264 RTMP Hosting Location
Step 6

Enable Mobile Application Access
Note
For appliances running Release 5.3.7 and later, when you enable the forced login feature on the Show and Share portal it does not require mobile device login to access the portal. For more information, see theDisable Access by Anonymous Visitors.
Prerequisites
If using external servers to host the videos, make sure you have both an HTTP and RTMP server defined for H.264 videos. See Create the File Hosting Location(s).
Procedure
Step 1
Choose
Administration from the global navigation.
Step 2
Choose Manage > Preferences and Settings .
Step 3
To enable this feature, check the checkbox under Mobile Application Access in the Settings area.
Disable Mobile Application Access
Disabling mobile access prevents the mobile client from connecting to Cisco Show and Share. Videos that are recorded and uploaded while mobile application access is disabled will be viewable in the mobile application when access is restored provided that the video transcoding and hosting location settings do not change.
Procedure
Step 1
Choose
Administration from the global navigation.
Step 2
Choose Manage > Preferences and Settings .
Step 3
To disable this feature, clear the checkbox under Mobile Application Access in the Settings area.
Re-Upload a Published Video
If you uploaded a video in a previous version of Cisco Show and Share, it may not be available on the mobile client. To make it available on the mobile client, you must re-upload the video. Re-uploading the video causes it to be sent to the Cisco MXE 3500 for processing.
Prerequisite
You must have access to the source of the video you are re-uploading.
Procedure
Step 1
Log-in to Cisco Show and Share.
Step 2
Go to the My Account > Videos > Uploaded .
Step 3
Click the Manage Video button for the video you want to re-upload.
The Upload Video page for that video appears.
Step 4
In the Add Video area, click Browse .
Step 5
Navigate to the video and click Open .
Step 6
Save the video as a draft or republish the video. The video will be re-processed by the Cisco MXE 3500 and the Pulse video analytics features available when the video is published.
