This document includes new and changed features, requirements, and known issues for Cisco Show and Share and Cisco Digital Media Manager (DMM) Release 5.6.1 installed on the Cisco MXA UCS M3 server.
The Cisco MXA UCS M3 server is based on the Cisco UCS C220 M3 server.
Note Cisco Show and Share Release 5.6.1 is for use only with Show and Share deployments.
This software release does not support Cisco Digital Signs, Cisco Digital Media Player, Cisco Cast, Cisco Digital Media Designer, or Cisco Digital Media Player Device Manager.

We DO NOT SUPPORT the use of browser proxies with Cisco DMM.
Release 5.6.1 is a maintenance release; there are no new software features in Release 5.6.1.

Table 4 lists the supported Cisco Show and Share and Cisco DMM upgrade path. Cisco Show and Share and Cisco DMM appliances must both run the same software version.
If you are on an earlier release, you must first upgrade to Release 5.6 before performing the software upgrade procedure. See the Release Notes for your software version on Cisco.com for more information.
Note The upgrade procedure takes from 10 to 15 minutes to complete. During the upgrade, users cannot access the appliance web interface.
Complete this procedure on the Cisco Show and Share appliance.
Step 1 Stage the upgrade image on an FTP, SFTP, or HTTP server.
Step 2 Log in as admin to the Appliance Administration Interface (AAI) of the Cisco Show and Share appliance.
Step 3 Choose APPLIANCE_CONTROL and press Enter.
Step 4 Choose SOFTWARE_UPDATE and press Enter.
Step 5 To update by using the remote disc image (.iso file):
a. Choose REMOTE_UPDATE and press Enter.
b. Enter the following information:
– For FTP/SFTP servers, enter the server name or IP address and a user account and press Enter. You will be prompted for a password. Enter the password and press Enter.
– For HTTP server, enter the URL and press Enter. For example, enter http:// hostname /isos/SNS-5.6.1.iso.
Step 6 The upgrade process starts automatically. When the upgrade is finished, the appliance reboots.
Step 7 To verify the update, log in to the AAI interface as admin. Confirm that the Main Menu shows the installed software version 5.6.1.

After you complete the software upgrade procedure on Cisco Show and Share and Cisco DMM, you should pair the appliances. First pair the DMM appliance from Show and Share, and then pair Show and Share from the DMM appliance. Extended embedded player shows prev buttons only for speaker on IE8. When a user accesses a video using Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 7, only the Previous button is available for navigation in a video with Pulse information, timeline, and comments features enabled. The browser might also display a webpage error message. |

Eth0 does not work on both DMM/SNS while doing install. The Ethernet 0 port on the server is not found during the boot process. Workaround Connect an Ethernet cable to port 1 on the PCIe1 card (Figure 1), not to the Ethernet 0 port. Figure 1 PCIe1 Card Port Showing the Ethernet Connection ![]() |

Apache service is not showing up as running. The DMM Administration > Services tab displays an alert that the Apache service has stopped. Workaround None. The stopped services alert does not affect functionality. |

When you open the video player and change the browser zoom setting from 100 percent, the page content disappears. Workaround Do not change the browser zoom setting from 100 percent when using the video player. |

Search filter in per author traffic report does not work properly. When you use an author first name or last name in the Reports > Per author traffic search filter, the search results are incorrect. |

Mobile: Processing Publish will not change automatically. When you publish a video by using the Show and Share mobile application, the processing state does not refresh automatically. Workaround Manually refresh the page to update the processing status. |
|
Mobile: Thumbnail is not available for video having duration less than 3 seconds. When you record and publish a video by using the Show and Share mobile application that is less than three seconds, there is no thumbnail for the video. |

Retains Approved state in spite of Hidden. When publishing multiple videos simultaneously, there are issues with the video status (Approved, Hidden, Published) after refreshing the page. |
|
Video listed under both Processing and Draft state while processing When a Cisco MXE 3500 is enabled for video transcoding and you upload a video, the video appears as both Processing and Draft in your Uploaded tab. |

Thumbnails of the split videos do not show up after Saving the video. If you split an.mp4 video in segments and then rearrange the segments, the thumbnails do not appear after clicking Save. |
|
Full screen button for wmv video is not working. When you pause a.wmv video, clicking on the full screen button has no effect. |
|
Behavior change in Edit Video if managing published video with slides. When you upload a video and add synchronized slides, there could be issues if you edit the video and remove all slides except for one. Also, if you then add a.zip file of slides, there could be a duplicated slide. |
