Headline: After disruptive ISSU 7.1(0)N1(1) to 7.1(0)N1(1a), primary vpc hap reset.

Symptom:

During a disruptive ISSU from 7.1(0)N1(1) to 7.1(0)N1(1a) or a future release, there is an issue with vPC hap reset.

Conditions:

In a vPC topology, both primary and secondary switches are running 7.1(0)N1(1) image. A disruptive upgrade to 7.1(0)N1(1a), or future release, is performed on one of the vPC peer switches, while the other is still running 7.1(0)N1(1) CCO image.

Workaround: None.

Customers need to upgrade to the replacement image.

Downgrade both vPC primary and secondary switches to an earlier supported release, and then perform an the upgrade directly to 7.1(0)N1(1a) or later release.

Another option is to simultaneously perform the upgrade to 7.1(0)N1(1a), or later release, on both vPC primary and secondary switches.

Disclaimer:

To increase availability, Cisco recommends that you upgrade affected images with the suggested replacement software images as soon as they become available.
