Reason for Advisory:
CDETS No: CSCva68421
The defect occurs when a SMU is used with a F3 line card in a Nexus 7000 chassis running an affected software release. The SMU can be installed and activated, however a future reload of the software on the chassis will result in deactivation of the installed SMU and further SMUs cannot be installed in the module. There is no impact if there are no F3 cards in the Nexus 7000 chassis or there are no SMUs installed.
As documented in the table below, only the NXOS Software Releases mentioned under “Affected Software Release” column are affected, no other NXOS release is impacted by CSCva68421. It is recommended that you migrate to the “Replacement Software Release” if you are running an “Affected Software Release”. No action is required if you are not running an “Affected Software Release” in the table below.

Symptom:
A SMU for F3 line cards will not function correctly. After install, activation, commit and reload of the switch, the SMU on F3 line card will not be active.
Reload and ISSU SMU will not function on a F3 line card.
Conditions:
Occur only for the F3 line card. Other modules function correctly.
Workaround:
Upgrade to NX-OS 7.2(2)D1(2)
