The following are new features and enhancements to the Patient view app:
Patients use any browser, a URL supplied by the care team staff, their room number, and a pin number (see “Password protection for patient data privacy” below for details) to access the mobile application. Patient view mobile app has responsive design and therefore can be used in either landscape or portrait orientation. It is based on OmniChannel architecture and has sectional layout and intuitive mobile-friendly navigation including support for swiping, scrolling, and tapping.
In stand-alone mode, patients can browse the Video Library and Movie on Demand categories as well as the TV Channel Guide. If patients elect to allow co-browsing (i.e. press the “Connect to TV” button) when they first log in, they can use their mobile device to control the content shown on the monitor in their room. They can change television channels, play a video or Movie on Demand, and make phone and video calls.
Note Video playback is not supported for mobile devices to preserve hospitals’ Wi-Fi network bandwidth.
Note The same pin number is used to both unlock Patient view app features and to log into the Patient view app on the patient’s mobile device.
