Commissioning and decommissioning are processes used to add or remove virtual machines in Secure Workload. Follow these recommendations to ensure the safe and effective use of the commission and decommission features when managing virtual machines.

• Use the commission or decommission feature only with Cisco TAC guidance. Incorrect usage may result in irrecoverable damage.

• Do not decommission two virtual machines at the same time unless explicitly approved by TAC.

• Avoid recommissioning more than three virtual machines at once.

• Never decommission more than one of the following types of virtual machines concurrently:

  • Orchestrator

  • Datanode

  • Namenode (including namenode or secondaryNamenode)

  • ResourceManager

  • Happobat

  • Mongodb (including mongodb or mongoArbiter)

  • Appservers
