Migration of Cisco Physical Access Manager Appliance to the UCS-B and C-series Platform
To migrate the data from CPAM appliance to UCS, complete the following procedure:

Note
This procedure supports only a setup running on CPAM v1.5.0. Systems with older versions can be upgraded to 1.5.0 by using 1.5.0 upgrade bin file.
Step 1
If installed, stop the Standby server on the CPAM Appliance.

Note
For redundant HA configurations, ensure that the Active and Standby servers are stopped, that is in the Down state. Restoring a backup while either of the servers is up will result in unexpected behavior.

Note
If you are upgrading or re installing the server software, the Standby server should already be in the Down state.
a.
Log on to the Standby CPAM appliance.
b.
Select Monitoring and then select Status.
c.
In the Admin State, click Stop.
d.
Verify that the Admin State is Down, as shown in Figure 1.

Step 2
Stop the Active server.

a.
Log on to the Active CPAM appliance.
b.
Select Monitoring and then select Status.
c.
In the Admin State, click Stop.
d.
Verify that the Admin State is Down, as shown in Figure 1.
Step 3
Take backup CPAM v1.5.0 from Cisco PAM Appliance.

Step 4
If installed, stop the Standby Cisco UCS server.

Log on to the Standby Cisco UCS server.
b.
Select Monitoring and then select Status.
c.
In the Admin State, click Stop.
d.
Verify that the Admin State is Down, as shown in Figure 1.
Step 5
Stop the Active server.

Step 6
On the Active Cisco UCS, select the Setup tab, and then select Restore, as shown in Figure 2.

Step 7
Enter and reenter the password for the backup file. This is the password entered when the backup file was created from CPAM v1.5.0 Cisco PAM Appliance.
Step 8
Click Browse to locate and select the .zip backup file. For example: bak-02102011-1141001.3.0_0.3.25.cpam-supermicro-116
Step 9
Click Restore and wait for the restore process to complete.
Step 10
Wait for the server to automatically restart.
•
A pop-up message appears informing you that the Web administrator utility is restarting.
•
If the Cisco PAM Server Administration utility disconnects, a browser error message is displayed. Wait approximately five minutes for the server to restart, and then refresh your browser to log in again.

Note
All installed licenses on the Cisco PAM Appliance will be inherited during the above migration process.
