Create border gateway sets by using the GUI

Configure a border gateway set to assign external data-plane tunnel endpoint addresses to the border gateways in each pod.

Use this procedure to assign a data-plane tunnel endpoint (TEP) address to the border gateways in each pod. Border gateways use this external anycast TEP to communicate with remote non-ACI fabrics. Cisco APIC also assigns one internal anycast TEP to all border gateways in the fabric.

A border gateway set provides the data-plane TEP assignments required for communication between ACI fabric border gateways and remote non-ACI fabrics.

Procedure

  1. From the top menu bar, choose Tenants > infra > Policies > VXLAN Gateway > Border Gateway Sets.

  2. In the Border Gateway Sets work pane, choose Actions > Create Border Gateway Set Policy.

  3. Verify that the VXLAN Site ID field displays the unique site ID that you created in the Create VXLAN Site window.

If you have not created a VXLAN site ID, Cisco APIC prompts you to create one.

  4. In the Name field, enter a name for the border gateway set policy.

  5. In the External Data Plane IP field, enter a unique routable IP address for each pod. Click +, and then enter the POD ID and Address.

  6. Click Submit.

The border gateway set policy is created with the specified external data-plane IP addresses. The border gateways can use these addresses to communicate with remote non-ACI fabrics.
