Dynamic L3Out EPG Classification has routing-protocol, route-map, topology, and security-configuration requirements.

Dynamic L3Out EPG Classification (DEC) dynamically associates external routes with endpoint groups based on route-map configuration.

  • Supports Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF).

  • Requires L3Out default-import route maps or BGP peer import route maps.

  • Supports shared security through external endpoint group (EPG) configuration.

Unsupported DEC features

The following features are not supported with DEC:

  • Intersite

  • Integration with a floating L3Out

  • Static routing

  • Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP)

  • Segment routing

  • AM

  • BGP next-hop propagation with a floating L3Out

  • Cisco ACI GOLF , Segment Routing over MPLS (SR-MPLS), and coexistence with a fallback route
