Configures an external bridge profile and associates a regular SVI with the profile so that grouped SVIs can use different access encapsulations.
Use the Cisco APIC CLI to create an external bridge profile and associate a regular SVI with the profile.
Procedure
-
Log in to the Cisco APIC CLI.
-
Run the configuration command to enter configuration mode.
Example:
apic1# configuration
apic1(config)#
-
Run the tenant tenant-name command to enter tenant configuration mode.
Example:
apic1(config)# tenant tenant-name
apic1(config-tenant)#
-
Run the external-bridge-profile bridge-profile-name command to create the external bridge profile and enter its configuration mode.
Example:
apic1(config-tenant)# external-bridge-profile bridge-profile-name
apic1(config-tenant-external-bridge-profile)#
-
Return to global configuration mode.
Example:
apic1(config-tenant-external-bridge-profile)# exit
apic1(config-tenant)# exit
apic1(config)#
-
Run the leaf leaf-id command to enter configuration mode for the leaf switch.
Example:
apic1(config)# leaf leaf-id
apic1(config-leaf)#
-
Run the interface vlan vlan-number command to enter configuration mode for the SVI.
Example:
apic1(config-leaf)# interface vlan vlan-number
apic1(config-leaf-if)#
-
Run the vrf member tenant command to associate the SVI with the tenant and VRF.
Example:
apic1(config-leaf-if)# vrf member tenant tenant-name vrf vrf-name
-
Run the ip address ip-address command to assign an IP address to the SVI.
Example:
apic1(config-leaf-if)# ip address ip-address
-
Run the external-bridge-profile bridge-profile-name command to associate the SVI with the external bridge profile.
Example:
apic1(config-leaf-if)# external-bridge-profile bridge-profile-name
The regular SVI is associated with the external bridge profile. Repeat the SVI configuration steps for each SVI that you want to group.
