Introduction
This preface describes who should read Cisco SCE8000 GBE Installation and Configuration Guide, how it is organized, and its document conventions.
This guide is for the networking or computer technician responsible for installing and configuring the Cisco SCE 8000 GBE platform on-site. To use this publication, you should be familiar with telecommunications equipment and installation procedures, as well as electronic circuitry and wiring practices. You should also have experience as an electronic or electromechanical technician.
This installation guide explains the initial hardware installation and basic configuration procedures for the Cisco SCE 8000 GBE. It contains procedures for unpacking and installing the device and performing basic configuration via the setup wizard. After completing the installation and basic configuration procedures covered in this guide, use the appropriate companion publications to configure your system more completely.
This guide contains instructions on how to install and run the Cisco SCE 8000 GBE platform. This guide assumes a basic familiarity with telecommunications equipment and installation procedures.
