Overview

The Release Notes for Cisco Service Control Application for Broadband (Cisco SCA BB) describe the enhancements provided in Cisco SCA BB Release 4.0.x:

Cisco Service Control Application for Broadband Release 4.0.0

This section describes the new protocol support and resolved and open issues pertaining to Cisco SCA BB Release 4.0.0:

New Features

The following features are introduced in Release 4.0.0:

•The number of filter rules is increased to 64. Filter rules from 0 to 63 can be used for both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.

•You can configure the Cisco SCE to classify the traffic flows only using zones and skip classifying using protocols and flavors. With this option enabled, the Cisco SCE is able to block all the traffic flows of subscribers who are in breached state without waiting for traffic classification to complete.

•You can select up to 192 exclusive global usage counter index values.

•You can select up to 48 exclusive subscriber usage counter index values.

•In an IPv6 flow filter configuration, you can use 128-bit masks for the subscriber side IP address and the network side IP address.

•The subscriber ID in the redirected URLs can be encrypted using an encryption key. Subscriber ID encryption in redirected URLs is applicable only for Cisco SCE 8000 GBE and 10 GBE platforms.

•Cisco SCA BB is enhanced with new services for Apple iMessage and WhatsApp Message. You can now get the number of text and attachment messages.

•Cisco SCA BB now reports the number of downloads on Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Protocol Support

Protocol Pack #34 is included in Cisco SCA BB Release 4.0.0.

Resolved Caveats, Release 4.0.0

This section describes the resolved caveats in Cisco SCA BB Release 4.0.0.

CSCuc67068

Applying a service configuration using the applyServiceConfiguration API fails if log4j debugging is enabled.

This issue is resolved.

CSCtr53951

Importing HTTP flavors using the easy format functionality may result in improper URLs if the CSV file was previously exported from Cisco SCA BB. Extra characters may be added at the end of the URL.

This issue is resolved.

CSCtf02972

If you delete all services from the Classification tab in Cisco SCA BB, save the PQB file, and open the PQB file, you are not able to add a new service to Cisco SCA BB.

This issue is resolved.

CSCtz85215

If you select the time zone as GMT+5 (Islamabad, Karachi) on your PC and open Cisco SCA BB, the application displays wrong timestamps.

This issue is resolved.

CSCte41217

If you create a service which has been associated with a quota profile with buckets assigned, the Quota bucket should be set back to None when the control is set to Block the flow.

This issue is resolved.

If you create a new configuration file (.pqb file), add a package to it without changing any of the default values, apply the .pqb file to the Cisco SCE, retrieve the .pqb file, and apply the same file again to the Cisco SCE, you are not able to get some of the Cisco SCABB Reporter reports.

The issue is resolved.

CSCue33246

After enabling real-time subscriber activity reporting, Cisco SCABB returns the following error every time the report is generated:

Executing Subscriber Real Time Activity/Subscriber Real Time Activity #1

(Time of error: DATE/TIME)

Reason:

Invalid column name 'MILIISEC_DURATION'.

This issue is resolved.

Cisco SCE does not filter percent-encoded URLs if the URL has lower-case characters.

This issue is resolved.

If you configure Cisco SCA BB to filter a URL, the Cisco SCE only filters the URL if it contains the same case that was used to configure.

This issue is resolved.

CSCuf35959

Cisco SCE detects a continuous spamming activity as a non-spamming activity.

Open Caveats, Release 4.0.0

This section describes the open caveats in Cisco SCA BB Release 4.0.0.

CSCug78987

You cannot duplicate a package if you select a newly-created quota profile under Quota Management of the package you are trying to duplicate.

Workaround

Save the configuration as a .pqb file, reopen the .pqb file and duplicate the package.

CSCug67568

If you create a new quota profile with Subscriber SCE API as the Type, attach all services to a quota bucket profile in Cisco SCA BB, create a new service on classification tab, save the configuration as .pqb and open the .pqb file, you can find that the new service does not get reflected to add into a bucket profile.

Workaround

There is no workaround.
