A Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) is a group of ports that enables devices to communicate with each other over the Ethernet MAC layer, regardless of the physical LAN. A VLAN is used to allow devices to be in the same broadcast domain regardless of their physical location.
This article explains how to configure VLAN properties on the SFE / SGE Stackable Managed Switches.
• SFE / SGE Stackable Managed Switches

If you wish to save these changes even after a system reboot, you need to copy the running configuration file to the startup configuration file. See Copy Configuration File on SFE/SGE Series Managed Switches for more information on how to do this.
Step 1. Click Edit to edit a VLAN. The Edit VLAN window appears.
Step 2. (Optional) Enter the name of the VLAN in the VLAN Name field.
Step 3. Check Disable Authentication to disable authentication for unauthorized users.
Step 4. Choose the ports that you would like to add the VLAN in the Port List field.
Step 5. Click >> to make the specified ports members of the VLAN.
Step 6. Click Apply.
