ICMPv6 Rate Limit Configuration on ESW2-550X Switch
The ICMPv6 rate limit determines the rate at which the IPv6 ICMP error messages are sent out on the network. This mechanism is implemented with a token bucket scheme which means it has the ability to send the error message in a group at a specified time interval. Each error message on a switch is stored in a virtual bucket and the maximum number of tokens allowed in a bucket can be specified for each and every error message sent.
This document explains how to configure the ICMPv6 rate limit interval and ICMPv6 rate limit bucket size on the ESW2-550X switch.

ICMPv6 Rate Limit Configuration
Step 1. Log in to the Switch Configuration Utility and choose IP Configuration > Management and IP Interfaces > IPv6 Global Configuration. The IPv6 Global Configuration page opens:
Step 2. Enter the rate limit interval value in the ICMPv6 Rate Limit Interval field. It specifies how often the error messages are sent out to the network from the switch.
Step 3. Enter the rate limit bucket size in the ICMPv6 Rate Limit Bucket Size field. It specifies the maximum number of error messages that the switch send within the time interval.
