In QoS Basic Mode, all traffic in the same class receives the same treatment. This treatment is the QoS action that determines the egress queue on the port which is based on the QoS value in the incoming frame. The QoS value is assigned externally. The QoS value of a packet determines its traffic class and QoS.
This article explains how to configure QoS Interface Settings in QoS Basic Mode on ESW2-350G Switches.
Note: For this configuration QoS has to be in basic mode. For more information refer the article entitled Quality of Service (QoS) Properties on ESW2-350G Switches.
• ESW2-350G
• ESW2-350G-DC
• 1.3.0.62
Step 1. Log in to the web configuration utility and choose Quality of Service > QoS Basic Mode > Interface Settings. The Interface Settings page opens:
Step 2. From the Interface Type drop-down list choose Port or LAG and click Go to bring up a list of the Ports or LAGs. If QoS state is enabled globally on the Global Settings page then by default all ports have QoS state enabled.
Note: For more information on Global Settings refer to the article titled Global Settings on QoS Basic Mode on ESW2-350G Switches.
Step 3. Click the radio button of the port or LAG you want to modify and click Edit.
Step 4. (Optional) Click the radio button that corresponds to the desired interface in the Interface field.
• Port — From the Port drop-down list choose the appropriate port.
• LAG — From the LAG drop down list; choose the LAG to configure. This affects the group of ports defined in the LAG configuration.
Step 5. Check Enable in the QoS State field to enable QoS on the interface or uncheck Enable to disable QoS on the interface. If QoS State is enabled, the port prioritizes based on the system wide trusted mode which is either CoS/802.1p or DSCP. If QoS State is not enabled, all inbound traffic on the port is mapped to the best effort queue and no prioritization occurs.
Step 6. Click Apply.
Step 1. Log in to the web configuration utility and choose Quality of Service > QoS Basic Mode > Interface Settings. The Interface Settings page opens:
Step 2. Click the radio button of a particular entry from which you wish to copy the settings to other interfaces and click the Copy Settings button.
Step 3. In the provided field, enter the destination interfaces to which the settings should be copied. You can enter interface numbers, interface names (for example GE15), or you can also give the range of interfaces (for example 4-10, GE1-GE10).
Step 4. Click Apply.
