Every port of the VLAN on a switch receives multicast frames by default. You can selectively forward the multicast traffic to relevant ports and drop it on the rest of the ports. Multicast is very useful in applications like video streaming and Internet television where there are multiple users.
This article explains how to configure multicast properties on ESW2-350G Switches.

Step 1. Log in to the web configuration utility and choose Multicast > Properties. The Properties page opens:
Step 2. Check the Enable check box in the Bridge Multicast Filtering Status field to enable filtering.
Step 3. Choose the desired VLAN ID from the VLAN ID drop-down list for which multicast frame forwarding is to be defined.
Step 4. Click one of the radio buttons for the Forwarding Method for IPv6 field to define the way that IPv6 multicast frames are forwarded.
• MAC Group Address — Based on the destination MAC address.
• IP Group Address — Based on the destination IP address.
• Source Specific IP Group Address — Based on both the source IP address and the destination IP address.
Step 5. Click one of the following radio buttons for the Forwarding Method for IPv4 field to define the way that IPv4 multicast frames are forwarded.
• MAC Group Address — Based on the destination MAC address.
• IP Group Address — Based on the destination IP address.
• Source Specific IP Group Address — Based on both the source IP address and the destination IP address.
Step 6. Click Apply to save the changes.
