System Settings on ESW2-550X Switch
Basic information of the switch such as the system description, location and contact provide information for users to contact an administrator about assistance with the switch.
This article explains how to configure the hostname, location and login banner on the ESW2-550X stackable managed switch.
Step 1. Log in to the web configuration utility and choose Administration > System Settings. The System Settings page opens:
Step 2. Enter the location of the device in the System Location field.
Step 3. Enter the name of the user (admin) to contact if any changes occur on the device in the System Contact field.
Step 4. Click the desired radio button in the Host name field. The available options are:
• Use Default — To keep the default host name.
• User Defined — Enter the desired hostname in the User Defined field..
The Log in banner is used to notify the important information provided by the administrator.
Step 5. Enter the login banner in the Login Banner field. The details entered in the Login Banner field are displayed in the Login Screen.
Step 6. (Optional) To see a preview of the login banner, click Preview. The web configuration utility Log in page of the switch opens:
Press escape key to return to the System Settings page.
Step 7. Click Apply to save the settings.
