This document explains how to configure the IPv4 interface statically or dynamically depending on the requirement. This helps the user to configure IPv4 addresses statically or dynamically on the ESW2-350G switch. If a switch doesn't have a DHCP server running then the IP address needs to be assigned statically.

Step 1. Log in to the switch configuration utility and choose Administration > Management Interface > IPv4 Interface. The IPv4 Interface page opens:
Step 2. Choose the Management VLAN from the drop-down list. By default the management VLAN is 1.
Step 3. Click Dynamic in the IP Address Type field.
Step 4. (Optional) Check the Enable check box in the Renew IP Address Now field to renew the IP address at this instant.
Step 5. Click Apply.
Step 1. Log in to the switch configuration utility and choose Administration > Management Interface > IPv4 Interface. The IPv4 Interface page opens:
Step 2. Choose the Management VLAN from the drop down list. By default the management VLAN is 1.
Step 3. Click Static in the IP Address Type field.
Step 4. Enter the IP address for the IPv4 interface in the IP Address field.
Step 5. Choose the mask type from the Mask field.
• Network Mask — Enter the subnet mask of the IP address entered in Step 4.
• Prefix Length — Enter the prefix length of the IP address entered in Step 4.
Step 6. Choose the Administrative Default Gateway that is used to access the device for the switch web configuration utility.
• User Defined — Enter the desired default gateway IP address in the field.
• None — This option chooses not to have any default gateway IP address.
Note: When configuring IPv4 address statically, the Renew IP Address Now will not be active because a static IP cannot be assigned automatically. It must be entered manually.
Step 7. Click Apply.
