Cisco is publishing the Connector Support Policy for AMP for Endpoints Connector software hosted on the AMP Cloud and applies to AMP for Endpoints Windows, Mac, and Linux Connectors.
Cisco will provide technical support (TAC), bug fixes, and product enhancements for the last 2 minor releases of a Connector. Once a subsequent minor version has two update releases, the previous minor release will be officially unsupported for future bug fixes and product enhancements. Release versioning is defined in accordance with Semantic Versioning 2.0.0 (MAJOR.Minor.patchlevel).
TAC support will continue to be available for customers with active AMP for Endpoints licenses and running a Connector version of the latest major release. If you experience a problem with an out-of-date Connector version, you may be asked to validate whether the most current maintenance release resolves your issue.
The AMP Console will be restricted to display and only allow download of AMP for Endpoint Connector versions that are officially supported.
AMP for Endpoints Connectors will only be tested and supported on operating systems with regular or extended support from the vendor. Cisco’s end of support for an Operating System, which includes ending of Cisco TAC technical support, bug fixes, and product enhancements, will align with the operating system’s published end of support schedule and applies to all versions of the Connector.

Table 1. Policy Timeline
This table outlines the milestones for the announced Support Policy.
As of the publishing of this Support Policy, the following End-of-Support Announcement for AMP for Endpoints Connector Versions has been made to detail specific AMP for Endpoint Connector versions immediately impacted by this Support Policy.
All versions and release dates are for examples only and do not align with real releases.
Example – Major version release
AMP for Endpoints Connectors major releases will be supported until there are 2 updates to the next major release available for deployment.
Release 1: AMP for Endpoints Windows Connector v5.5.9 – January 2018
Release 2: AMP for Endpoints Windows Connector v6.0.1 – February 2018
Release 3: AMP for Endpoints Windows Connector v6.0.3 – March 2018

Release 4: AMP for Endpoints Windows Connector v6.0.5 – April 2018
Connectors v6.0.1, v6.0.3, and v6.0.5 are fully supported.
Connector v5.5.9 is no longer supported. Major version 5.x branch will no longer receive support, product updates, or bug fixes and may require customers to upgrade to the latest minor version to receive technical support, product features, and security updates.
Example – Minor version release
AMP for Endpoints Connectors minor releases will be supported until there are 2 updates to the next minor release available for deployment.
Release 4: AMP for Endpoints Windows Connector v6.0.5 – April 2018
Release 5: AMP for Endpoints Windows Connector v6.1.1 – September 2018

Connectors v6.1.1, v6.1.3, and v6.1.5 are fully supported.
Connectors v6.0.x are no longer supported and may require customers to upgrade to the latest minor version to receive technical support, product features, and security updates.
New Major Version Releases Cisco will continue to provide TAC technical support, fixes, and enhancements for the latest 2 minor versions of the Connector, even if the minor versions are part of a major release. If you experience a problem with an out-of-date software version, you may be asked to validate whether a current maintenance release resolves your issue. All support for the previous major release will end after the second update release for the new major version.
Beta Connector Releases Beta Connectors releases do not follow the standard Support Policy and are governed by the support provided during the beta period.
One-off Removal While Cisco will make every attempt to avoid the case, it may necessary to remove a released version of the AMP for Endpoints Connector due to the severity or frequency of issues seen in-field or to address security concerns. In that event, we may remove and either 1) make available a new version that addresses the issues or 2) provide a recommendation on which version customers should upgrade to. If a Connector is removed, the previous version of the Connector will be unavailable for download and will not be configurable for upgrade through Connector policy settings.
AMP Private Cloud This Support Policy only applies to AMP for Endpoints Connectors available on the AMP Cloud. The AMP Private Cloud will be addressed in a future Support Policy update.
Frequently asked questions
Q: When will the Support Policy go into effect?
A: The Support Policy was announced on April 7, 2020 and will take effect on May 7, 2020.
Q: Will Connectors continue to function after they are no longer supported by the Support Policy?
A: Yes, Connectors will continue to function and connect to the AMP Cloud for AMP disposition services, however they may be running at a reduced capacity due to lack of features available in newer releases and may also contain unaddressed security concerns. Reference the AMP for Endpoints Release Notes which contains details on the latest features and security updates for each release. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version of the Connector to ensure you can use the latest features and are up to date for security patches.
Q: Will I have access to Connector versions that have extended past the Support Policy?
A: Connectors actively deployed in your environment will continue to function and connect to the AMP Cloud, however they will not be eligible for technical support. Connectors that are no longer supported as defined in the Support Policy will be removed from the AMP for Endpoints Console in future release. These Connector versions will no longer be available for download from the Connector download page or configurable for upgrade via Connector policy. Policies that are already configured for upgrade to an unsupported Connector version will be automatically updated to remove the configuration in a future AMP Console release.
Q: Can I still deploy an older Connector version I previously downloaded?
A: Yes, older Connector versions already downloaded can still be deployed, however you will be unable to download a Connector version already removed from the AMP Console. Deployment of unsupported versions is not recommended because it may be lacking new product features and important security patches. In addition, technical support will not be provided, and you may be required to upgrade to a currently supported version before receiving technical support for those Connectors.
Q: How do I find out which unsupported versions of the AMP for Endpoints Connectors are deployed in my environment?
A: The AMP Console provides several ways to find and display unsupported Connectors. The Computer Management page (Management -> Computers) allows manually filtering the deployed Connector list to show the Unsupported Connectors. On the Computers page, expand Filters and select “Unsupported” from the Connector Version drop-down. This will show all devices running an Unsupported Connector version. Also, the Computer panel of the Dashboard Overview tab will show a graph with the percentage of Connectors that are Unsupported in your environment. Clicking on “End of life” will automatically direct you to the pre-filtered Computer Management page and display the specific devices impacted.
Q: How are beta Connector versions supported with the Support Policy?
A: The deployment of an AMP for Endpoints Beta Connector is supported by the beta team and governed by the beta agreement during participation. Once the beta has ended, customers wanting to continue using the feature will need to follow instructions to move to the publicly available and officially supported Connector version.
Q: How will the AMP Private Cloud Connector versions be affected?
A: This Support Policy applies only to the AMP Cloud. Due to the different release cadence for the AMP Private Cloud, a specific Support Policy update will be made to account for the Connector versions available on that deployment model.
Q: Which Connector Versions are affected by this Support Policy?
A: The Support Policy will impact AMP for Endpoints Windows, Mac, and Linux Connectors available on the AMP Cloud. Connector versions that are immediately affected by this Support Policy can be found on the End-of-Support Announcement for AMP for Endpoints Connector Versions.
