Add VPN Users on RV180 and RV180W
This document explains how to add new VPN Users on RV180 and RV180W.

PPTP Server Configuration
If you are using a Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol VPN Server:
Step 1. Using the Configuration Utility, choose VPN > IPsec > VPN Users. The VPN Users page opens.
Step 2. Under PPTP Server Configuration section, check the PPTP Server enable check box.
Step 3. In the Starting IP Address field, enter either the first IP address or the starting IP address of the IP range to be assigned for the users.
Step 4. In the Ending IP Address field, enter either the last IP address or the ending IP address of the IP range to be assigned for the users.
New VPN Users addition
Step 1. Using the Device Manager, a browser based utility of the device, choose VPN > IPsec > VPN Users . The VPN Users window opens:
Step 2. In the VPN Client Setting Table, click Add.
Step 3. Check the Enabled check box.
Step 4. Enter the username of the user to be created in the Username field. Enter the password for the user to be created in the Password field.
Step 5. Check the Allow User to Change Password check box if the user has to be given the privilege to change his password.
Step 6. Under the Protocol drop-down list choose the appropriate protocol type for the user:
• QuickVPN — The server authenticates the user. • PPTP — The PPTP server authenticates the user. • XAUTH — This is for external authentication where the user is authenticated by external authorization server, such as RADIUS Server.
