This article explains on how to block URLs using RV180 and RV180W Routers. Websites can by blocked by complete URLs or by keywords. Keywords prevent access to websites that contain the specified characters in the URL or the page contents. The Blocked Keyword Table lists all Blocked URLs and allows several operations on keywords.

Step 1. Use the Configuration Utility of the router to choose Firewall > URL Blocking. The URL Blocking page opens.
Step 2. Click Add Row to add a new URL or keyword to block.
Note: To edit or delete an existing entry, check the check box in the first column corresponding to an entry and then click Edit or Delete.
Step 3. Choose a LAN group from the Apply Keyword Blocking To drop-down menu.
• Blocked Keyword – Enter the keyword or URL to be blocked
Step 4. Click Save to save the changes made.
Step 1 To configure LAN groups, click on Configure LAN Groups which redirects to the LAN(Local Networks) Group page.
Step 2. To add a new group, click Add.
Note: To edit or delete an existing entry, check the check box in the first column corresponding to an entry and then click Edit or Delete.
• Name – Enter the name of the group.
Step 3. To add IP addresses, click Add.
Step 4. Choose a type of the IP address from the IP Address Type drop-down menu.
• Single Address– Uses just one IP address
• Start IP Address– When Single Address is chosen, enter the IP address in this field.
• Address Range– Specifies a range of IP addresses.
• Start IP Address– When Address Range is chosen, enter the first IP address in this field.
• Finish IP Address– Enter the last IP address in this field.
Step 4. Click Save to save the changes.
