This document describes how to troubleshoot common issues at ScanSoft Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) / Text-To-Speech (TTS) with Cisco Voice Portal (CVP) integration.
Cisco recommends that you have knowledge of these topics:
Cisco CVP Call Server
Voice Extensible Markup Language (VXML) server
The information in this document is based on these software versions:
Cisco CVP Server 7.0 and later
The information in this document was created from the devices in a specific lab environment. All of the devices used in this document started with a cleared (default) configuration. If your network is live, ensure that you understand the potential impact of any command.
1. Clicking noise is heard during Scansoft TTS on IP phones.
2. Start of speech not flagged in Scansoft configuration file causes Dual Tone Multi Frequency (DTMF) barge-in not detectable.
3. Scansoft Speech recognition server does not recognize wide character string grammars.
4. SpeechWorks does not work with Unified CVP.
Issue 1. Configure this setting:
server.transport.audio.playerPacketDataSize VXIInteger 160 at Scansoft OSSserver.cfg file under ScanSoft\SpeechWorks OpenSpeech Media Server\Server\config.
Issue 2. Configure this setting:
server.session.ossrec.mrcp.startOfSpeechOnDTMF VXIInteger 1 at Scansoft OSSserver.cfg file under ScanSoft\SpeechWorks OpenSpeech Media Server\Server\config.
Issue 3. Navigate to \ScanSoft\SpeechWorks OpenSpeech Media Server\Server\config directory and modify OSSserver.cfg file to add server.session.ossrec.useWidecharStringGrammars VXIInteger 0
In the OSSserver.cfg, set: server.transport.dtmfPayloadType VXIInteger 101.
Issue 4. The default configuration for SpeechWorks Media Server (SWMS) 3.19, OpenSpeech Recognizer (OSR) 3.09, RealSpeak 4.0.10 from ScanSoft requires changes to work with Unified CVP. These parameters must be set in OSSServer.cfg:
The OSSServer.cfg file is for Media Resource Control Protocol (MRCP) server and webserver application configuration. On a Scansoft Server it can be found in this location:
Name, Type and Value entries must be configured as shown here. Values must be changed, lines un-commented or entries added in order to have the OSSServer.cfg file reflect these entries. Be careful to search for each one first because most exist already and just need changes to the Value.
