Finesse Support for 89xx/99xx Phones and Multi-lines Configuration
There are different interpretations for the support of 89xx/99xx phones and multi-lines support in Finesse 9, 10, and 10.5. This document clarifies the support available for these versions.
Finesse 9 and 10 - Versions Released
The main support points are:
- Cisco 89xx/99xx phones are supported.
- A specific configuration on Unified Contact Center Enterprise (UCCE) and Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) needs to be completed for 89xx/99xx phones. UCCE multi-lines configuration is required by UCCE in order to support 89xx/99xx phones, but it does not mean Finesse supports multi-lines.
- Officially, only ONE line is supported and TWO lines (multi-lines) is NOT supported.
- In Finesse documents, it is emphasized that Finesse only supports ONE line for all 89xx/99xx phones and multi-lines are NOT supported.
Finesse 10.5 - Version Not Released
The main support points are:
- Multi-lines (TWO lines) support could be a Finesse feature, but is not yet committed.
- Cisco 89xx/99xx phones will be supported, most likely with up to TWO lines.
- Configuration and caveats for TWO line support will be documented.
- Documents for Finesse 10.5 will be updated to include phone type and multi-lines support.
In summary, in Finesse 9 and 10, Cisco supports 89xx/99xx phones, but does not support multi-lines. For Finesse 10.5, Cisco is working on multi-lines (TWO line) support.
