This document describes how to perform a hard factory reset on a Cisco TelePresence TX Series codec in order to recover a codec that cannot boot up.
The Reset button is located on the side of the codec between the headset and the USB ports, as shown here:

Reset the Codec
Complete these steps in order to perform a hard factory reset on the codec:
- Power off the codec via the power switch on the Power Distribution Unit (PDU). Do not simply unplug the barrel connector from the codec.
- Depress and hold the Reset button with a paperclip or similar apparatus.
- Continue to hold the Reset button, and restore power to the codec.
- Continue to hold the Reset button for 30 more seconds, and then release it. The codec should reboot immediately and boot up normally to checkmark 2.
At this point, the hard factory reset procedure begins, and the codec reboots one final time in order to complete the process.
