This document describes the difference between a process and a process instance.
The information in this document is based on Tidal Enterprise Orchestrator 2.1 or later.
The information in this document was created from the devices in a specific lab environment. All of the devices used in this document started with a cleared (default) configuration. If your network is live, make sure that you understand the potential impact of any command.
Refer to Cisco Technical Tips Conventions for more information on document conventions.
It is valuable for customers to understand the difference between the two, especially when dealing with Cisco Support and Cisco Engineering.
A process is the definition or configuration of the actual process. There is only one of these per process.
A process instance is a running or completed instance of that process including output and errors of the process, if any exist. There can be many process instances for one process definition.
