This document describes how you can enable the debug log level in the Cisco Information Server (CIS) when you configure the <CIS_INSTALL_DIRECTORY>\conf\server\log4j.properties without a required CIS service restart.
How do I Implement log4j Properties Changes Without a Required CIS Restart?
You do not need to restart the CIS server for log4j.properties in order to implement. When you toggle the Administration > Configuration > Server > Configureation > Debugging > Debug Output Enabled flag from the CIS Studio, the log4j.properties file is re-read.
Edit the log4j.properties file.
Set the Debug Output Enabled flag to True and click Apply.
Set the Debug Output Enabled flag to False and click Apply.
Click OK and close the Configuration dialog box.
These steps might increase debug logs for the logger category that you enabled the DEBUG log level in the log4j.properties file. If these steps do not increase the debug logs, you must restart the CIS service. You might code that looks like this code:
