This document describes the uses of MS Excel as an Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) client, connecting to Cisco Information Server (CIS).

Excel client times out after 60 seconds
While a long running query is executed from an Excel client tool, Excel shows: The request timed out after 60 seconds.
By default, ODBC client timeouts are set to infinite, whether on the CIS server or from an individual DSN. Sixty seconds also happens to be the default execution timeout for excel that might limit your usage.
You can alter this setting for each excel client, by editing this default setting in the windows registry for each client host.
Increase the value for QueryTimeout, then rerun your query from Excel, as shown in this image.
