Schools Create Safe, Innovative Learning Environment

The city of Denton in north Texas has one of the most innovative K-12 school districts in the country. The Denton Independent School District covers more than 180 square miles and educates more than 26,000 students. To maintain a safe environment, a top priority, the district needed to integrate a full solution for IP video surveillance using its Cisco core network.

Cisco Video Surveillance Manager, Cisco IP Interoperability and Collaboration System (IPICS), Cisco Jabber Video for TelePresence

  • Helped ensure high level of security at all 44 district buildings
  • Increased empowerment of campus leadership and security staff with new centralized and mobile IPICS connectivity
  • Provided effortless integration with core network infrastructure

IPICS...allows [our principals] to access any camera in the district from classrooms, hallways, cafeterias...[even] from home.
