● One of the Cisco DNA Center Appliance licenses listed below will get deposited into the customer’s Cisco® Smart Account by default when purchasing a new Gen 2 Cisco DNA Center Appliance (regular/large/XL) with software version 2.1.2.x and above.
● Cisco DNA Center Appliance needs to be registered with the respective Smart Account/Virtual Account to consume this Cisco DNA Center Appliance license. Refer to Cisco DNA Center Administration Guide 2.1.2. x and above for more information.

Brownfield Cisco DNA Center appliance customers
● Brownfield Cisco DNA Center Appliance customers will also get a Cisco DNA Center Appliance license based on the appliance type.
● Existing Cisco DNA Center Appliance customers must upgrade to Cisco DNA Center software Release 2.1.2.x or above.
● They need to register their appliances one by one with Cisco® Smart Software Manager (CSSM) and leverage the self-serve option in CSSM to deposit the respective the Cisco DNA Center appliance license in the customer’s Cisco Smart Account.

● When performing self-serve, the customer must select the appropriate Cisco DNA Center Appliance license with QTY 1 based on their appliance model (regular-regular/large-large/XL-XL).

● Customer should follow the steps mentioned in the upcoming pages to deposit the Cisco DNA Center Appliance license in the respective Smart Account/Virtual Account automatically.
Cisco DNA Center appliance registration
1. Register Cisco DNA Center Appliance with CSSM using the option “Smart License Registration.” Refer to Cisco DNA Center Administration Guide 2.1.2. x and above.
2. Check the registration status and license authorization status after registering with CSSM. Go to CSSM, if the authorization status is “Out of Compliance.”

3. Enable self-serve in CSSM by navigating to Inventory > Product Instances > Select the Product Instance with type “DNASW“> Actions > Add to Inventory.
4. Select the appliance license based on the hardware appliance model. Enter “1” against “DNAC Gen2 Appliance -Regular (44 Core)” if you are registering a regular DNAC appliance.
Click “Next” and review the added license.
Click “Add to Inventory” to add the appliance license to the inventory.
Note: Reach out to GLO team If you have selected the wrong appliance license or quantity.
5. In CSSM, navigate to Inventory > licenses check whether DNAC appliance self-service license has been deposited.
6. In Cisco DNA Center, navigate to System > Settings > Cisco Accounts > Smart License Registration > Reregister. Now the authorization status will be changed to “Authorized.”
