Product Price Search

1. Why did my search not find any products?
You have the option of using the complete description as well as a word or phrase, and complete or partial product numbers to search (for example, "cab"). The system searches for products containing your criteria. Please note that using this option will produce all records that match your search (such as all "cab" products). Precise search criteria will produce precise results, and your search will also run faster. Please check your search criteria for possible spacing or spelling errors and reenter the information. If the search still produces no results it is possible that the product is no longer listed. If you receive this message, please contact your Cisco Account Manager or distributor for more information.

2. Can I type in a partial product number when using the search function?
You have the option of using the complete description as well as a word or phrase, and complete or partial product numbers to search (for example, "cab"). The system searches for products containing your criteria. Please note that using this option will produce all records that match your search (such as all "cab" products). Precise search criteria will produce precise results, and your search will also run faster.

3. What is the "Product Price Search" feature and how do I use it?
The "Product Price Search" function of the Cisco Pricing Tool allows you to search product prices by product family, product description, product number in the current price list and legacy price list.

4. What is the "Search for Product Price by Product Family" feature and how do I use it?
The "Search for Product Price by Product Family Function" of Pricing Tool allows you to search product prices by Product Family.

To search product price in the current price list from a product family:

  1. Select PRODUCT PRICE SEARCH tab on the horizontal navigation.
  2. Select Current Price List .
  3. Select the price list you wish to view from the pull-down menu.
  4. Select radio button for Product Family under Select Search Type and click the Submit button .
  5. On the next page, select a product family from the pull-down menu and click the Submit button .
  6. The selected products and prices will be displayed on your screen.

5. What is the "Search by Product Description or Product Number" feature and how do I use it?
The "Search by Product Description or Product Number" function of Pricing Tool allows you to search for specific products by description or by product number, and view the results on your screen. Searches are not case-sensitive, and only one product description and/or number can be entered per field. Correct spelling and spacing are required.

To search by product description and/or product number from the current price list:

  1. Select the PRODUCT PRICE SEARCH tab on the horizontal navigation..
  2. Select Current Price List .
  3. Select the price list you wish to search from the pull-down menu.
  4. Select radio button for Product Description and/or Product Number under Select Search Type.
  5. You have the option of using the complete description as well as a word or phrase, and complete or partial product numbers to search (for example, "cab"). The system searches for products containing your criteria. Please note that using this option will produce all records that match your search (such as all "cab" products). Precise search criteria will produce precise results, and your search will also run faster.
  6. You can enter both a product description and a product number to narrow your search.
  7. Once you have completed entering your data, click the Submit button. The results of your search will appear on your screen.
  8. If your search produces no data, you will see the message, "Your query returned no data." Please check your search criteria for possible spacing or spelling errors and re-enter the information. If the search still produces no results it is possible that the product is no longer listed. If you receive this message, please contact your Cisco Account Manager or Distributor for more information.

6. What is the "Price List History" feature and how do I use it?
The Pricing Tool "Price List History" feature allows you to view three different historical change reports:

  • A report of new products (Additions)
  • A report of products which have been removed from the published price list (Deletions)
  • A report of price or service category changes to the previously published price list (Changes)

To view a Price List History report:

  1. Select Price List History tab on the horizontal navigation.
  2. Select the price list you wish to view historical information from the pull-down menu.
  3. Select a historical date range from the pull down menu.
  4. Click one of the historical information options (Product Additions, Product Deletions, and Changes)
  5. Click on the Submit button. The result of your submission will be displayed on your screen.

If you want to view product additions, product deletions, and changes at once, you will need to download the entire change report (as opposed to just viewing), since viewing the entire change report may be substantial enough to cause a memory error on your browser.

7. What is the Search Product Price in Legacy Price List feature and how do I use it?
The Legacy Price List feature allows you to view prices for spare parts on discontinued products. (see the Cisco Pricing Tool Glossary for a definition of the Legacy Price Lists.) To view a Legacy Price List:

  1. Select Product Price Search on the horizontal navigation.
  2. Select Legacy Price List.
  3. Select a Legacy Price List from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click on the Next button.
  5. Select a product family from the pull-down menu and click the Submit button.
  6. The selected prices will be displayed.

1. What is the "Download Price List" feature and how do I use it?
With the "Download" function, the Cisco Pricing Tool allows you to download the entire price list to your computer in Microsoft Excel or ASCII text format.

To download an entire price list:

  1. Select the DOWNLOAD tab on the horizontal navigation.
  2. Select the type of price list from the selections at the top of the page.
  3. Select the price list you wish to download from the pull-down menu.
  4. Click the desired file format. If you do not have Microsoft Excel choose ASCII text.
  5. The download will start or you will be prompted to configure your browser first. Downloading may take up to 15 minutes (14.4 modem speed). After downloading you may want to locate and rename your file.

To configure your browser: (Note: The following instructions are for the Microsoft Windows version of the Netscape Navigator browser. Other browsers follow a similar process to configure helper applications. Please consult your browser's documentation for details.)

  1. Choose the Configure a Viewer... option on the dialog box that displays.



  2. Click on Pick AppÂ…, type the name of the application program, or click on Browse to find it.



  3. Choose the program and click OK.


The selected viewer application is launched and the download process starts automatically.

2. What is the Download Price List History feature and how do I use it?
The Download Price List History feature allows you download the entire Price List History report to your computer in Microsoft Excel or ASCII text format. To download the Price List History report:

  1. Select DOWNLOAD tab on the horizontal navigation.
  2. Select Price List History tab.
  3. Select the price list you wish to view historical information from the pull-down menu.
  4. Select a historical date range from the pull down menu.
  5. Click on the desired file format. If you do not have Microsoft Excel choose ASCII text.
  6. Click the Submit button.

The download will start or you will be prompted to configure your browser first. Download time will depend upon the speed of your Internet connection. After downloading you may want to locate and rename your file.

3. How do I import the downloaded ASCII file flat of Price List data into my database?
You will need to create a table with the following fields in your database in order to import and accommodate the data you have downloaded.

After this, you can use your database's import utility to read the data from the downloaded flat ASCII file into your database.

4. What is the Download Legacy Price List feature and how so I use it?
The Download Legacy Price List feature allows you download the Legacy Price List to your computer in Microsoft Excel or space-delimited text format. To download the Legacy Price List:

  1. Select DOWNLOAD on the horizontal navigation.
  2. Select Legacy Price List.
  3. Select a price list from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click the desired file format. If you do not have Microsoft Excel choose Space-Delimited text.
  5. Click on the Submit button.

The download will start or you will be prompted to configure your browser first. Download time will depend upon the speed of your Internet connection. After downloading you may want to locate and rename your file. If you want to download the Legacy Price List in plain text format, your browser will download the file into the browser window on your screen; you can then save it as text.

5. What is the Download Service Price List feature and how do I use it?
The Download Service Price List functionality allows you to download the Service Price Lists to your computer in Microsoft Excel format. To download the Service Price List:

  1. Select DOWNLOAD on the horizontal navigation bar.
  2. Select Service Price List.
  3. Select a price list from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click on the Submit button.

6. Why can't I download the current price list using Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0?
This is due to a problem with Internet Explorer 3.0, which was corrected by Microsoft in Version 4.0. To download the price list, you will need to update your browser to Version 4.0.

7. Can I see pricing online or do I have to download the entire price list?
Using the Search Product Price on the horizontal navigation bar will allow you to view pricing for specific products, or product families without having to download the entire price list.

1. I ordered manuals with my product order. When will I receive them?
Spare manuals are shipped several days before the product order and should arrive within days of your product in a separate shipset. You can check your order by using the Order Status Tool in Cisco's online Networking Products MarketPlace .

3. How do I tell if printed manuals are automatically included with my product when it is shipped?
If printed manuals are automatically included with your product shipment, the titles of the manuals will not be displayed at the end of the price list (i.e. because they are automatically included with the product, they do not need to be ordered as "spares").
4. How can I tell if printed manuals are not automatically shipped with my product and I have the choice of ordering them separately?
If printed manuals are not automatically included with your product shipment, orderable manuals for the product you selected will be displayed at the end of the price list .

5. How do I find out what printed manuals are orderable for my product?
To order printed manuals for your product, you first need to find out what manuals exist and what their order numbers are using the online Cisco Pricing Tool. The second step in the process is placing the actual order for the manual(s) using the Cisco Online Ordering Tool. It is possible that the product has been discontinued or it is obsolete. Please contact your Cisco Account Manager or distributor for more information.

2.I have heard about a new Cisco product, which is not on this price list. How can I obtain more information about it?
It is possible that this product is not yet available. Please contact your Cisco Account Manager or distributor for more information.

3. How often are the price lists updated?
The Cisco Price Lists are updated daily. The modification dates for the price list reports are contained within each report's contents. The modification dates for the pricing data presented on the Cisco Pricing Tool home page.
4. Where are the prices for special promotions located?
For the most up-to-date information on special promotions, please contact your Cisco Account Manager or distributor.
5. I am having problems viewing the entire price list. How can I fix it?
It is possible that your browser application does not have enough memory, or that your Internet connection is timing out. Your browser's help files contain information on reallocating memory. Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) can assist you with "time out" issues. You can also download the entire price list for off-line viewing.
