Dillon Kane Group (DKG) has completed the acquisition of Cisco Extended Care

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Long-term partner, Dillon Kane Group (DKG) announced it has completed the acquisition of Cisco Extended Care, effective December 1, 2017, DKG will be responsible for, development and support of the solution moving forward. Cisco intends to add Extended Care to the Cisco Global Price List (GPL) as part of the Cisco Solution Plus program.

Cisco is continuously evaluating its strategic objectives and product priorities. After a recent evaluation, Cisco concluded that the option to divest Extended Care is best at this time. Cisco believes selling Extended Care to DKG is the right move in order to evolve and support the product to its fullest potential so that we serve the best interests of our customers.

What is being announced?

Cisco announces that effective December 1, 2017, Dillon Kane Group (DKG) acquired the Cisco Extended Care product and will assume responsibility for its development and future roadmap. A long-standing, trusted Cisco partner, DKG has the experience and expertise to drive Extended Care along a continued path to success. Cisco remains committed to Extended Care, and will continue as a go-to-market channel for Extended Care. Cisco intends to add Extended Care to the Cisco Global Price List (GPL), as part of the Cisco SolutionPlus program. Details on the SolutionPlus program will be available in the coming weeks.

Who is the company acquiring Cisco Extended Care?

Dillon Kane Group (DKG), headquartered in Chicago, Illinois is the acquiring company.

When will the transfer occur?

The transition of Extended Care is effective as of December 1, 2017. DKG has assumed management of the product development roadmap, go-to-market activities, and support.

Why is DKG the right choice for Cisco Extended Care?

Cisco selected DKG based upon careful evaluation. They are a long-time product development partner of Cisco’s that has an expanding portfolio of healthcare solutions. DKG’s focus on the healthcare market, combined with their technical capabilities and support organization will provide the required product and customer support infrastructure for Extend Care’s success in the marketplace. DKG specializes in taking over and continuing the development of early stage solutions, maintaining user community continuity and support.

What kind of experience does DKG have in healthcare?

DKG has been developing healthcare and insurance solutions since 2002. Because significant interdependencies exist between healthcare providers and insurance payers, DKG has been working collaboratively with clients in both segments to develop solutions for health delivery that also provide value for payer systems. DKG continues to work with major clients in both healthcare and insurance to source and develop specialized solutions that address growing cost and complexity issues.

Recently, DKG acquired another healthcare solution from Cisco—the Patient Connect solution. With the acquisition of Extended Care, DKG is continuing to expand their healthcare solution portfolio to serve the strategic digital transformation needs of our joint customers.

What products are involved in this transition? 

The following products will transfer to DKG. The Cisco product numbers will be modified to DKG numbers as part of the transition of Extended Care to the Cisco SolutionPlus program. Your Cisco account representative will provide the revised product numbers.

What is the support plan for Cisco Extended Care after the transition? 

Current customers with support contracts will continue to contact Cisco for support related issues, with DKG assuming ongoing technical support obligations for Extended Care. Support questions should be directed to Cisco’s Customer Interaction Network (CIN). Customers may email Cisco using Ask Smart Services here or by calling +1 877 330-9746.

To ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, DKG plans to establish a separate business unit focused on Extended Care, incorporating both product development and support operations. To help maintain continuity for customers, DKG will operate the Extended Care support model using the Cisco Interaction Network processes.

What impact will this transition have on my organization?

Cisco and DKG are working closely together to ensure this transition is seamless for Extended Care customers.  Current customers can continue to purchase Extended Care as before. New solution licenses can be purchased using the revised Cisco SolutionPlus product numbers. DKG is a Cisco partner who will operate the Extended Care support model using the Cisco Interaction Network (CIN) processes.

Will all existing purchased licenses transfer to DKG?

Cisco will honor the current licenses until they expire. Renewals will be through DKG.

Is there a change in Cisco’s healthcare vertical strategy, application software, or other software applications?

No. The decision to transition Extended Care is part of Cisco’s continuous evaluation of its solution portfolio. Cisco’s current healthcare strategy remains the same. The transition of Extended Care to DKG provides dedicated development, support, services, and go-to-market capabilities. The planned inclusion of Extended Care in Cisco’s SolutionPlus program will give Cisco the ability to continue to sell the solution as part of our healthcare portfolio, fulfilling the strategic telehealth needs of our customers.

Will Extended Care still integrate with Cisco Call Manager?

Yes.  Extended Care will continue to be integrated with Cisco Collaboration products.

Will Extended Care be integrated with Spark?

Additional development is required but it is the joint vision of DKG and Cisco that Spark will be integrated into Extended Care roadmap.

How will the Extended Care roadmap be impacted?

The release of version 1.3 of Extended Care, focused on mobile support, will be transferred to DKG.  DKG will determine the release schedule. Specific roadmaps and timelines are currently being determined.
