Cisco ACI Case Study: Manx Telecom

Manx Telecom

Setting the Network Free

Company: Manx Telecom

Industry: Telecommunications Services

Location: Isle of Man

Company Size: 300 employees

Manx Telecom wanted to evolve from a traditional service provider to a cloud services innovator. Making the transition meant replacing an ageing IP multimedia subsystem with a virtualized platform to support rapid service delivery and business growth.

Cisco software-defined networking provided a complete solution for public and private cloud. Network functions have been virtualized and automated using a Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) spine, hosted on a Cisco Nexus 9000 Series platform.

Manx Telecom cut the time required to enable 4G roaming by 50 percent, from 6 months down to 3. Infrastructure investment costs have been reduced by up to 40 percent, and service running costs are 20 percent less. There is reduced risk of network downtime and if faults do arise they are much easier to solve. New services can be deployed 50 percent faster and engineers have 30 percent more time for IT transformational projects.

We wanted to make the change to software-defined networking with someone we trust.
