Dynamic DNS

Dynamic Domain Name System (DDNS) is a method of keeping a domain name linked to a changing IP address since not all computers use static IP addresses. D DNS automatically updates a server in the DNS with the active configuration of its hostnames, addresses, or other information. DDNS assigns a fixed domain name to a dynamic WAN IP address. Hence, you can host your own web FTP, or another type of TCP/IP server on your LAN. There are several DDNS services to choose from, most of which are free, or available at a nominal cost. The most popular is DynDNS.
