Mapping DNS Hosts
Frequently-queried names, acquired from DNS servers in the past, are saved to a local DNS cache (up to 64 entries). In addition, you can enter DNS host names and their IP address. Name resolution always commences with these static entries, continues with the local DNS cache, and ends with requests to the external DNS server.
The Host Mapping Page enables configure static mappings between a DNS host name and an IP address.
Several IP addresses are supported per DNS per host name.
To add a domain name and its IP address:
Click IP Addressing > Domain Name System > Host Mapping. The Host Mapping Page opens.

Adding a Host Name
Click Add in the Host Mapping Page. The Add Host Name Page opens.
This page contains the following fields:
- Supported IP Format Select version 6 for IPv6 or version 4 for IPv4.
- IPv6 Address Type Select the IPv6 type: Link-local or global Unicast.
- Link Local Interface Enter the IPv6 link-local interface type. The possible options are:
- Host Name Enter a domain name (of up to 158 characters).
- IP Address (1-4) Enter up to four host IP addresses. Address 1-3 are backup addresses.
