1. Remote configuration using a computer communicating with the bridge through a Cisco AP. The computer used for configuration must be on the same subnet as the bridge.
2. Use a computer on the wired LAN to communicate with the bridge through a hub on the wired LAN. IPSU must be installed on a computer that is on the same subnet as the bridge.
3. Use a non-networked computer to communicate directly with the bridge through a crossover cable. IPSU must be installed on the computer as well as on the same subnet as the bridge.
4. Use a console cable and configure the bridge using the menu.

If the bridge does not receive an IP address from a DHCP server, or the default IP address is to be changed, use IPSU to assign an IP address. The SSID for the bridge can be set at the same time, as shown in Figure . If the bridge is reset to factory defaults, a PC can connect through a wired or wireless link using the default values.

The computer used to assign an IP address to the bridge must have an IP address of its own. IPSU can only change the IP address and SSID on the bridge from their default settings. After the IP address and SSID have been changed, IPSU cannot change them again unless the Mode button is pressed and held. This will reset the configuration to the factory defaults.

Follow the steps in Figure to assign an IP address and an SSID to the bridge.
