Java Issue When Launching Content - Fixed
September 9th, 2013
The Java issue affecting the PEC and Skillsoft certification courses has been addressed. All of the courses should be working normally now on all supported browsers (Firefox, IE, and Safari). Users looking to run Skillsoft certification courses should make sure they're running the latest version of Java (http://www.java.com) before attempting to run these courses.
Users running Safari may have to take some additional steps to ensure that Java is activating properly in their browser:
- Go to www.java.com/testjava
- If it displays the "Your Java is working" message, then java is enabled and you are free to proceed with running Skillsoft courses
- If it displays "Missing plugin" or a similar error, click on the error graphic itself within the browser window. After a few seconds, Safari should reload the page and will then display the "Your Java is working" message
- If you're still unsuccessful, the test pgae should contain links that can further help troubleshoot
Details on the error itself can be found here.
We thank all of our users for their patience on this as we worked towards a resolution. If you're still having issues, please open a support case with Partner Helpline.
