Who can use the Health Center

If you are a Cisco employee eligible to receive benefits, you and your dependents can access high-quality medical care through the LifeConnections Health Center & Pharmacy.

If you are covered under a UnitedHealthcare (UHC) Choice or Choice Plus plan, or the CIGNA Open Access or Open Access Plus plan, you typically pay less than you would at other medical offices because services are provided at discounted rates.

If you are covered under Kaiser Permanente and visit the Kaiser-affiliated physician, you are covered by your existing medical plan and pay the same copay as at any Kaiser Permanente facility.

If you have waived coverage or you are covered under another medical plan (e.g. BUPA, CIGNA International), you must pay for services before you leave the facility and you submit your invoice to your medical plan for reimbursement.

The LifeConnections Health Center & Pharmacy is an innovative onsite medical facility for Cisco employees and their families. Operated by North First Street Medical Group, the health center offers a new model of care that treats the whole person. LifeConnections Health Center provides a full suite of health services customized specifically for your needs, delivering patient-centered, and quality care in a nurturing environment:

  • Primary medical care (family medicine, internal medicine, women's health, pediatrics)
  • Laboratory services
  • Pharmacy, including over the counter medicine
  • Physical therapy
  • Condition management and health coaching
  • Travel immunizations
  • Digital x-ray services
  • Chiropractic care
  • Acupuncture
  • EAP/Behavioral health
  • Electronic medical records and secure messaging with your physician

The full-service pharmacy operated by Walgreens offers prescription services and consultations. Over-the-counter products such as shampoo, toothpaste and cold medicine are also available at a 15% discount off the Walgreens retail price.

Onsite condition management nurses, health coaches and EAP counselors work hand-in-hand with physicians and pharmacists to provide integrated, collaborative care to every patient.

Starting in 2010, UHC and CIGNA PPO, EPO and Out-of-Area plan members will have their deductibles waived for physician visits to treat illnesses or injuries (deductibles will apply to acupuncture, chiropractic care and physical therapy visits).
