Management System Setup : Manage Installation Keys

Use this page to review specifications of the current Cisco Aironet software license and to install a new license.

Settings

Current License

This section is an information summary about the software license currently installed on this device.

MAC Address -- The Media Access Control address is a unique serial number permanently assigned by Cisco Aironet.

Serial Number - The serial number of your product.

Device Type -- The full product name.

Number of Associations -- The maximum number of stations that can be associated with this device. Note that this is the licensed number of stations that can be associated with this device; the radio hardware can further limit this number.

Features Enabled -- This line lists the software features that are enabled on your device. Among many options, two of the more commonly selected capabilities are:

  • Antenna Diversity -- Two antennas for improved data reception and transmission
  • Long WEP -- Encryption security system

Install a New License Using One of the Following Methods

This section selects one of two ways to update the Cisco Aironet software license.

Type in New License -- Enter the complete alphanumeric license key.

Select a New License File -- This method allows you to browse your hard drive or mapped network drives to find the file containing the license key.

Description

Install License Now

After entering new information, click Install License Now to activate the new settings. The browser remains on this page.

Cancel

This button cancels all changes to the settings, returns the settings to the previously stored values, and redirects the user back to the main Setup page.
