Cisco Unified Contact Center Express Virtual Server Template 1.0 Overview 2.0 Scope 3.0 Instructions 4.0 References 5.0 Trademarks and Notices 1.0 Overview The Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX) Virtual Server Template defines a virtual machine configuration that supports UCCX 10.5(1). The template is designed for systems that can support up to 100, 300 and 400 agents. 2.0 Scope The UCCX template is an OVA (open virtual archive) file that can be imported/deployed using the OVF (open virtualization format) support of VMware. The OVA file defines the following for the virtual machine to support 100 agents: - Number of virtual CPUs: 2 (minimum of Nehalem class CPU) - Amount of vRAM: 8 GB - Amount of vCPU: 2 - Hard disks: 1 x 146 GB (contains aligned partitions for UCCX application) - ESXi support: ESXi 5.1, 5.5 (VM version 8) - OS support: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (64-bit) The OVA file defines the following for the virtual machine to support 300 agents: - Number of virtual CPUs: 2 (minimum of Nehalem class CPU) - Amount of vRAM: 8 GB - Amount of vCPU: 2 - Hard disks: 2 x 146 GB (contains aligned partitions for UCCX application) - ESXi support: ESXi 5.1,5.5 (VM version 8) - OS support: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (64-bit) The OVA file defines the following for the virtual machine to support 400 agents: - Number of virtual CPUs: 2 (minimum of Nehalem class CPU) - Amount of vRAM: 16 GB - Amount of vCPU: 4 - Hard disks: 2 x 146 GB (contains aligned partitions for UCCX application) - ESXi support: ESXi 5.1,5.5 (VM version 8) - OS support: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (64-bit) 3.0 Instructions Import the OVA using the vSphere Client: 1) Using the File --> Deploy OVF Template ... option to start the import 2) Deploy from file and point to the OVA file downloaded from Cisco 3) Provide VM name, select server, and select data store 4) Verify deployment settings and finish deployment Edit Virtual Machine to prepare for installation: 5) Once VM is created, edit settings 6) Provide the appropriate mount location for the UCCX installation ISO 7) Select checkbox to go into BIOS settings upon first boot 8) Save settings Start UCCX installation: 9) Power on VM 10) In the BIOS settings, edit boot order to have CD drive first, followed by hard disk. 11) Save BIOS settings 12) Follow UCCX installation procedures to complete installation 4.0 References For more information about UCCX virtualization, see "Virtualization for Cisco Unified Contact Center Express" available at: http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Virtualization_for_Cisco_Unified_Contact_Center_Express 5.0 Trademarks and Notices Copyright© 2014 Cisco Systems, Inc.
