Cisco Business Edition 3000 Readme File Version: 8.6.4 The Readme file describes the various configuration and diagnostics settings on Cisco Business Edition 3000. To perform the following operations, you must download BE3000-utils_8_6_4.zip archive from Cisco.com and extract the files. 1. Perform USB-based diagnostics 2. Configure Network parameters externally using the USB flash drive 3. Automate First Time Setup ( FTS ) wizard 4. Reimage the system unattended BE3000-utils_8_6_4.zip is a zip archive which contains the following files. 1. diagnose.xml Use the diagnose.xml file to perform diagnostics in the Cisco Business Edition 3000 system when the administrative user interface is not accessible. To use this feature, copy the files to a USB flash drive and plug it into the Cisco Business Edition 3000 system. The system will automatically execute diagnostics programs and create an archive of the diagnostic logs and other log files in the system. This archive will be copied to the same USB flash drive. You can send the compressed image of log files that is created in the USB flash drive to the Cisco Engineering team for further analysis and troubleshooting. 2. configure.xml When an USB flash drive with a configure.xml file is inserted into the system, it temporarily allows the user to access the system using the network configuration information (IP address, netmask, and default gateway) included in the configure.xml file. This is useful in the following situations: 1. Forgot the IP address of the Cisco Business Edition 3000 after setup 2. Need to move the Cisco Business Edition 3000 system to a different network 3. When running FTS wizard, you need to connect the machine to the corporate network This is an XML file that have to be updated with the network information before being used. To use this file, download and store it in a USB flash drive and plug it into Cisco Business Edition 3000 server USB port. The system will set the IP address information that is avaialable in the XML file. The user can connect to the server using this IP address. BE3000_install_8_6_4.xls BE3000_install_8_6_4.xls is a Microsoft Excel format file used for automating FTS. You can modify BE3000_install_8_6_4.xls file to customize the product for a particular site. Later, you can use the file during FTS for silent installion. 4. platformConfig.xml platformConfig.xml file can be used for customizing unattended reimaging of the Cisco Business Edition 3000 system.
