For MIBs, look in ftp://ftp.cisco.com/pub/mibs/ ZIP FILE (*.zip) ================ The zip file Cat4000IOS.cv50.v24-0.zip includes network management device package file that enables you to view and manage the Cisco Catalyst 4000 Family Modular Switches running IOS, using CiscoView. Package Size: 8803185 bytes CISCO IOS SOFTWARE RELEASES =========================== This package is supported for Cisco IOS Release 12.2(54)WO(0.08) or later for Cat4000IOS family devices. NMIDB SUPPORT ============= No NMIDB support for this release. BUG FIXES ========= None RELEASE NOTES ============= If Access Gateway Module (WS-X4604-GWY) is present in Cat4000 family chassis, and if the prerequisites are not met as specified, CiscoView will display the Cat4000 family chassis with sub components of the Access Gateway Module undiscovered. The following steps can be followed to discover the sub components of the Access Gateway Module in CiscoView + Right click and select configure (or double click) on the undiscovered Access Gateway Module. This will populate a dialog to enter the public IP Address of the Access Gateway Module. + Enter the public IP Address of the Access Gateway Module. + Click Ok/Apply buttons. + This will prompt for community strings for the Access Gateway Module. + If the user enters wrong input, user will be prompted with appropriate error messages. + Once the proper community strings are entered for the Access Gateway Module, the complete Cat4000 family chassis will be rediscovered along with sub components for Access Gateway Module. + If there is any chance that user has provided wrong input for the Access Gateway Module, there is a provision to change it, by repeating steps from the beginning. DEVICE PACKAGE INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS =================================== After downloading Cat4000IOS.cv50.v24-0.zip to a temporary location ("/tmp", for Example), do the following to install the package: * For CiscoView 6.1.X on Solaris/Windows Server from GUI 1. From CiscoWorks homepage, Select Common Services > Software Center > Device Updates. The Device Updates page appears. 2. Select the CiscoView check box , then click Check for Updates. The Source Location page is displayed. You can check for updates at Cisco.com or at a Server. 3. Check for updates. - To check for updates at Cisco.com, select the Cisco.com radio button. - To check for updates from a server: a. Select the Enter Server Path radio button. b. Enter the path or browse to the location using the Browse tab. Note: If the source location is Cisco.com, make sure the credentials are configured at Server > Security > Cisco.com Connection Management > User setup. 4. Click Next. The Available Packages and Installed Packages page is displayed. 5. Select Cat4000IOS.cv50.v24-0.zip and then click Next. The Device Update page appears. You can choose to install device packages or download device packages. - To install device packages, select the Install Device Packages radio button. - To download device packages, select the Download Device Packages radio button. If you select Install Device Packages do the following: - Click Next. A summary of your inputs is displayed. - Click Finish. A warning message pops up to tell you that the daemons are restarted. - Click OK to continue with installation. If you select download Device Packages, - Enter the folder in File Selection field or click Browse to select the folder. - In Scheduling pane, choose the Run Type (Immediate or Once), Date, and Time. - In the Job Info field, provide the Job Description and E-mail ID. * For CiscoView 6.1.X on Linux/Solaris/Windows Server from CLI After downloading Cat4000IOS.cv50.v24-0.zip to a temporary location on the server (for example, "/tmp" for Solaris/Linux or "c:\tmp" for Windows), issue the following command to install the package: (Linux) /bin/PSUCli.sh -p cvw -install -src /tmp where NMSROOT is the directory in which CiscoView is installed.
