Cisco.com User Experience Guidelines and Standards

Call to Action Links

Used to increase the visibility of a specific action you want the user to perform, the "Call to Action" helps users quickly perform the main task on the page and also helps marketing by  making it easy to sign up and register as many potential customers as possible. Do not confuse these with buttons used in applications, like START, GO, CANCEL, SAVE. These are designed to perform a specific action.

When using these graphics:

  • Use only one per page. If you need to use two, then clearly differentiate them, making it clear to the user what they are signing up for. You can differentiate them by clearly defining the specific audience in a heading.
  • Do not create a lead in sentence that duplicates the text in the graphic. Explain the benefits of registering or signing up clearly in a heading or sentence or two above the Call to Action. Briefly state the reason the user would be interested in clicking the link. The Call to Action then follows this text, after your paragraph.
  • Use only the graphics provided here. Do not create any additional graphics. Contact the UE team if you need text that isn't available here by emailing cdc_guidelines_feedback@cisco.com.
