View Recent Enhancements to the Service Request Process

The Cisco TAC Service Request Tool was recently redesigned with a more user-friendly interface to create service requests faster and more easily.

These enhancements included:

  • Fewer screens to speed the service request process


  • Additional filtering options to help you quickly find the information for creating a service request


  • More intuitive format for selecting product and contract information to ensure the correct level of service support


  • New relationship between technology/subtechnology selection and product family information to simplify accurate product selections

Also, you can now review or update your service requests by using the "TAC Service Request Tool -- My Requests" application, located in the Related Tools section.

Cisco Technical Support Advisor - UPDATE:
Online Tool Will Be Retired in July

On July 9, 2006, the Cisco Technical Support Advisor (TSA) will be removed from the Cisco Technical Support & Documentation Website. Instead, please use the TAC Case Collection tool that has similar functionality.

CCIE Central - UPDATE:
Changes to Security Lab and Written Exams

Effective January 2, 2007, there will be some important content changes in the CCIE Security Lab and Written Exams. All CCIE exams are revised regularly in response to changes in networking practices and feedback from customers and partners.

Troubleshooting techniques will now be integrated into the lab exam. In addition, the following changes will be introduced in the lab at that time:

  • Upgrade of Cisco PIX Firewall Appliance to Software Version 7.x
  • Addition of two ASA-5510 Firewall Appliances running v7.x
  • Upgrade of Cisco Intrusion Prevention System to Software Release 5.x
  • Upgrade of Cisco VPN3000 Concentrator Series to Software Release 4.7.x
  • Upgrade of Cisco Catalyst 3550 switches to Software Release 12.2SEE
  • Upgrade of CiscoSecure ACS to Software Version 4.0
  • Elimination of preconfigured ACS that candidates are now required to configure
  • Addition of PC to test Remote Access VPN, admission control, packet Capturing, and various other applications

Candidates for written and lab exams scheduled on January 2, 2007 or later should prepare using the v2.0 blueprints below:
