Cisco Software Advisor - UPDATE:
Online Tool Helps You Find the Software You Need

Cisco Software Advisor helps you find software that is both compatible with your Cisco device and meets your requirements. This online tool also helps you determine the minimum available compatible software release for your specific device.

Thanks to a recent update, Software Advisor now:

  • Supports the Cisco 1841 Integrated Services Router
  • Uses the "show version" and "show diag/mod" command output you supply to alert you, prior to download, if the software image Software Advisor recommends exceeds the memory limits of your hardware

You can also use Software Advisor to find:

  • Information about a particular software release
  • Similarities and differences in feature sets between two software releases

CCIE Central - UPDATE:
Cisco TAC Changes Service Routing for CCIEs

Based on an analysis showing that requests from CCIEs are significantly more complex than the average support call, the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) has changed the routing process for service requests initiated by CCIEs. Now, requests from CCIEs at companies with valid support contracts are routed directly to the more experienced TAC core support team. This change is designed to improve the time-to-resolution for complex support requests and free up level-one support staff for other calls.

CCIEs employed by an organization with a valid support contract can submit their requests using the usual phone numbers and URLs. Routing is done automatically based on your Cisco user ID and certification.
