Service Order Submit Tool - UPDATE:
Coming June 30, New Configurator to Speed Orders

The Cisco Service Order Submit Tool helps you configure part orders and determine compatibility information. Beginning June 30, a new product configurator within the Service Order Submit Tool will enable you to configure orders more quickly and accurately by providing instant compatibility information, and by tracking and displaying your current selections.

Initially, the new configurator will support the following product families:

  • Catalyst® 5000 Series
  • Cisco 3600 Series
  • Cisco 7000 Series
  • Cisco 7200 Series
  • Cisco 7500 Series

We will transition all product families to the new configurator within the next six months. During this transition, Cisco will support both the current and new configurators. The new configurator will require Internet Explorer 5.5, Netscape 7, or higher.

In mid-June, registered Cisco.com users can access Web-based training about these changes via the Service Order Submit Tool at:

www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/front.x/agents/svo_tools/SVOToolDispatcher
(available to registered users)

To submit a question or comment about the new configurator, click on the "Feedback" link on the Service Order Submit Tool or select the "New Configurator Question" category at:

CCIE® Central

CCIE Recertification Exams - UPDATE:
Program to Discontinue Use of Specific Recertification Exams

To maintain active status, every CCIE must pass a recertification exam every two years. Effective June 15, the CCIE program will discontinue the use of specific CCIE recertification exams. Instead, a passing grade on any of the 10 currently available written CCIE exams will fill this requirement. Because the CCIE program constantly updates these exams with new questions, passing any one of the exams proves that you have invested heavily in your knowledge of networking.

One temporary exception will be the Recertification Access Exam (#350-008), which will be available through July. The CCIE program is adding content from the Recertification Access Exam to a new version of the Communications & Services Dial Exam, which will not be available until July.

Find out more about CCIE recertification at:
