TAC Output Interpreter Tool:
Obtain Troubleshooting Help for Cisco DSL Technologies

The Cisco TAC Output Interpreter tool now supports Cisco DSL CBOS/CPE and DSL IOS/CORE commands. The Output Interpreter is an online tool that can be found on the "Tools" section of the Cisco TAC Web site. This tool helps you troubleshoot a number of router issues by copying router "show" commands into a text box. The tool automatically diagnoses the problem, delivers a customized report, and offers suggestions for resolution.

The Output Interpreter tool's Command Parser function will decode and display relevant error information for one or more individual Frame Relay "show" commands outputs, including:

  • sh frame-relay lmi
  • show frame-relay map
  • show frame-relay pvc
  • show interface serial

The Output Interpreter tool's Symptom Analysis function also analyzes cross-reference values in multiple prescribed command outputs to present a potential diagnosis and solution for Frame Relay technologies, including:

  • My FRAME-RELAY interface shows a down/down state
  • My FRAME-RELAY interface shows an up/down state
  • My FRAME-RELAY interface shows an up/up state, but Router A can't ping Router B
