Changes to the Cisco Master Unified Communications Specialization

The retirement of the Cisco Rich Media Communications (RMC) Authorized Technology Provider (ATP) Program and announcement of the new Cisco Authorized Unified MeetingPlace Program affects the Master Unified Communications (UC) Specialization prerequisites. Effective May 8, 2009, the following changes will be implemented for the Master UC Specialization:

  • For new Master Unified Communications candidates, the Cisco Authorized Unified MeetingPlace Program becomes a prerequisite for the Master Unified Communications Specialization.
  • Current Master Unified Communications Specialized partners that have met the RMC ATP prerequisite will be grandfathered into the program and will need to meet Cisco Authorized Unified MeetingPlace Program requirements upon recertification. If recertification date falls between May and August 2009, current Master UC partners have the option of recertifying without fulfilling Authorized MeetingPlace requirements, but will need to meet those requirements upon their next one year anniversary.
  • The ATP requirement has been removed, including the Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise (UCCE) ATP requirement.
  • Current Master Unified Communications Specialized partners that met the previous ATP prerequisite with the UCCE ATP and are preparing for recertification can demo MeetingPlace Express for their audit requirement. Those UCCE ATP partners will have one year to meet the Authorized Unified MeetingPlace Program requirement upon their next recertification.
